Performance - More Muscular Performance

The 2024 Honda Africa Twin gets a power boost! Torque is what finds drive in the dirt. It’s what brings the instant acceleration, especially when two up or fully loaded. So, we’ve given the OHC liquid-cooled twin cylinder engine 7% more, with much stronger performance off the bottom and through the middle of the rev-range and achieves peak torque earlier and thanks to higher compression ratio, new valve timing and updated intake and exhaust there is no loss of power – 75KW (101hp) at peak - with the precise response and feel of throttle by wire.

Control

Honda's already-impressive Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) gets even better for 2024. It now takes advantage of the engine's extra power by shifting down earlier and using improved cornering detection. Riders will also appreciate the smoother, more natural feel at take-off and when changing between first and second gear.

Design - To push Limits

Riding off-road is about finding balance to push. Which is exactly what this chassis does. The formula is precise; a lightweight steel frame, CRF 450R-Inspired aluminium swingarm and bolt-on subframe provide the rigidity and feedback for traction. Long travel Showa suspension- 230mm stroke front, 220mm rear – with updated settings absorbs rough terrain, there is a huge 250mm ground clearance to clear obstacles. For pinpoint setup the rear shock, operating through Pro-Link, is fully adjustable for compression and rebound damping.

The 7-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, managed by a 6-axis IMU, ensures optimal rear-wheel traction on and off-road. The ABS delivers full braking confidence, enhancing safety in various conditions. With four default riding modes—URBAN, TOUR, GRAVEL, and OFF-ROAD—you can also customise all settings in USER mode to perfectly match your preferences.
